Abstract:An optical fiber gas sensor for methane is described. Based on the principles of methane molecules’near -
infrared absorption spectra , a LED is used as a light source and its wavelength modulation is realized by a fiber grating
and piezoelectric ceramics (PZT) to obtain modulated narrowband output light . The high sensitivity detection of methane
can be obtained from the second harmonic signal .
